About the Opportunity

ContiTech Australia is now seeking a full-time Services Safety Advisor to join their team in Malaga, Perth.

Reporting to the WA Service Manager, this autonomous role will see you responsible for the day-to-day implementation and advisory of health and safety protocols within the WA branch, including site based projects on customer sites.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Establishing and promoting maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions;
  • Formulating general safety, fire prevention and health policies / measures to be followed by company associates;
  • Devising and coordinating safety programs to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness;
  • Inspecting company facilities to detect existing or potential accident or health hazards, and recommending corrective or preventative measures;
  • Recommending measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards; and
  • Assisting and mentoring the Safety Representatives within each Crew, and chairing the safety services sub-committee, giving guidance on safety related matters. 

About You

To be successful in this position, you must hold a relevant safety qualification (Diploma level minimum), along with experience in a similar role. Knowledge of OHS regulations and legislations, and an understanding of Risk Management principles, is essential. Ideally, you'll also have exposure to the mining industry as well as experience with the MYOSH system.

ContiTech Australia is looking for self-motivated candidates who thrive in an autonomous working environment. Strong organisational skills, technical report writing skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities will set you up for success. 

Importantly, you'll be well versed in cultivating and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from management to site crew to customers. As this role involves regular site visits, it's important you be keen to travel to customer work sites and engage with employees and clients alike. You'll also have the ability to effectively train and guide others in regard to Workplace Health and Safety.

Although not essential, a current First Aid Certificate and/or working knowledge of emergency accident procedures will be highly regarded.
